Asia de Cuba - London

Very trendy...good Cuban/Asian fusion (where else are you going to get that??)

This is a pretty hip spot to dine in Central London. Near the Leicester Square tube stop, this Covent Garden spot is relatively expensive. Very trendy. Pretty stylish. Good food – not great though.

We had a party of four and the server recommended three starters and three mains. We complied and still had room for three desserts…maybe that was her strategy. This came out to around 400 GBP with a bottle of wine, and for four people you’d expect the food to be amazing. It wasn’t amazing – it was pretty good. The atmosphere was great though.

We had: Wagyu beef of the day (a.k.a. Kobe beef): not recommended for the price (40 GBP, about 6oz and cold by the time it got to the table). Lobster: Recommended. Fantastic. Very good. Duck: Recommended. Less expensive and better than the Wagyu.

Also try the Mojito Martini as an aperitif. An accidental discovery by one of my buddies, this turned out to be the find of the night and was very tasty.

Would I go back or recommend to a friend? For the food? No. For the atmosphere/scene? Yes.
