Washington, DC September 06        Flight to DC – $114          Janky Hotel  – $347         Cocktails – $90          Car exploding and riding in the cab of a tow truck with Bubba and your gay two best friends – priceless.  Yes in those immortal words… You’re not going to believe this shit.

SO there I was sitting in my nice comfortable apartment talking to my boyfriend who had just gotten back from Boston, when he tells me that he just doesn’t see spending the rest of his life with me. It was 11 months and 5 days and I did thought that I would spend the rest of my life with him. That sucks. We were supposed to go to the beach together with some of my friends this weekend, now that obviously isn’t going to happen. About a week ago one of my friends, Rick, bailed because he has to go home to Washington to pick up his sister in law’s old car and bring it to ATL to sell on his lot. As Rick, Bo, and I sat around that night trying to feel better about me being dumped, we decided to screw the beach and instead we would all go to Washington and then drive back with Rick. Yes cool kids I am going to be seen in a 1998 Toyota Tercel for ten hours. Line the highways and get your cameras ready because this is going to be an event that will be talked about for years to come. I leave Thursday night on a late evening Air Tran flight out of ATL to Reagan. My friend who works at the Ritz Carlton got us a room at the Marriott Washington (on the cheap so I won’t complain).

So Bo gets to my condo late (big surprise) making us get to the airport 44 minutes before take-off.  At which point the desk agent informs us that we have to arrive 45 minutes early to check our bags.  Given that we were literally 44 minutes before take-off, I pleaded to no avail.  So we inquired as to our options and given the lateness of the next flight, and these God-awful regulations (did you know you can carry personal lubricant i.e. KY Jelly but not toothpaste), we decided to dump our toiletries.
