Carlton New York

Carlton New York

quote:

As New York’s newest grand old hotel, the Carlton stands between the Murray Hill and Gramercy Park neighborhoods, where tree lined streets make guests feel they’re staying at a house rather than the crowded center of Midtown Manhattan. Still, the Carlton is close to Midtown’s attractions and near the heart of the business, shopping and entertainment districts, where restaurants, bistros and cafes are within strolls away. So are the Empire State Building, Penn Station, Macy’s Herald Square, Madison Square Garden, Times Square, Fifth Avenue shopping, the Broadway Theater District and the funky Greenwich Village. Guest services agents help patrons bag theater tickets, dinner reservations and airport transportation. Guests also receive complimentary admission to an area health club. This year, the ol’ gal will return to her former grandeur. Built at the beginning of the 20th century, this attractive Beaux Arts building kept many of its original features while getting refitted with modern conveniences and contemporary d√àcor. Workers are about to complete a multi million dollar restoration aimed at returning the Carlton to its former grandeur. Renovations on most guestrooms, suites and guestroom corridors are finished. Next to the existing building, workers are constructing a building that will include a two story atrium lobby with a grand waterfall, European style health club and spa. They expect to complete this phase by the second quarter of 2005, at which time a four star restaurant, bar and 24 hour room service will become available for guests. Complete with attractive, eclectic d√àcor, guestrooms feature mahogany furnishings, Frette linens, fabrics by Scalamandre, safes, work desks, 27 inch stereo/cable TVs, video games, movies, and Gilchrist & Soames English designer toiletries. The Carlton Hotel offers guests the residential feel of Manhattan while simultaneously being near the top attractions and locations. From the Carlton, guests will feel the pulse of the city that never sleeps.
