8th Term Food Writing

So, I;m in my 8th term, and after quite a bit of schedule issues, I'm finally settled into the end of my second week. Which, brings the reason for my blog.

I haven't written in a very long time and after my Food Writing Class let out an hour early, I felt really foolish to be sitting in my room, so I decided to pop on here and write for a bit.

Food Writing class seems so full of information. I am so sad to see it ending in November.

 Years ago, on...

$1000 Stuff.

My dad is being a major pain. I'm unbearly frustrated. He's one of those old people who can barely check their email and don't trust a damn thing on the internet. I've been on this site for a little over a year. Dont you think I know this site well enough now? That I'd know if something was fishy? I'm just so angry. But I guess I'm used to it. I feel frustrated most of the time anyway.

So I guess I won a $1000. =) =) =)

Can it be true? Seriously? I checked my gusto page, and someone had commented a congrats for winning, and so when I checked my email, lo and behold, I won!!!

I was stoked, like game show stoked. The first thing I did was email my boyfriend a "holy goodness is this for real" Email. And then I told my dad, who, practial and weary of anything internet, wanted to be sure it's legit.

But what to do with the money? The practical side of me urges me to save for the...

The First Ever CIA Fashion Show!!

Okay all, I was in a Fashion Show Last night. The Baker's Club was asked to create some outfits out of food, and well…just read to hear about my day! =)

The Fashion Show was AWESOME!!!!!!

Matthew and I got there at Noon, because I had to get makeup done. Even though the fashion show was going to be at 7, the girl who was doing makeup had to go to work at 3, and she promised me the makeup would last all day and night (which...

One of my paper articles

Hey all, I don't know if this will be printed or not…but if it's not, I'd really like to have someone other than my boyfriend and the editor read it…so I thought I'd share it. This article was inspired by a Cadbury Creme egg….as you soon will read….

Ideas...?

At 9:10pm tonight, a full 35 minutes before my first psyche class was supposed to end, I sped down to the gathering of Clubs for the showcase, eager to speak to the school paper editor. The student who did a column for 19 months had graduated, and I knew it'd be open, and how work was much needed for the paper, so I thought I'd take a shot and see if I could possibly take it over, or submit work to the paper on a regular basis. The editor was very excited that I was interested in...

Amazing Culinary Moment

Ladies and gentlemen…I have just experienced what may very well be the second COOLEST moment of my culinary life….sort of. Actually, I feel rather silly getting so excited…but here we go….

I am in the library, and I was studying for my Economics Final for tomarrow….there are two girls across from me working on a project, and we look up when the main hall door opens and two people enter. First, I see a guy in suit,...

Okay!!!

It's been awhile, again, since I've posted…school, in short, is going to kill me. My composistion and commiunications teacher lacks the latter skill, leading to my tiny emtional breakdown monday before last…or something. Oi…dont even want to get into that…long story short, he almost made me cry and was very harsh and scathing. Im really, really struggling with Econ and it'll take a miracle to pass it. All the studying and tutoring isn't helping...

Advanced Pastry Class

So, just had my first adv. Pastry Class. Turns out there ARE no recipes. This is kinda hard to explain. We have 5 groups, and each group gets a list of ingriedents or we make something from a previous assignment. This turns into 5 tasting courses. Each with a drink to go with it. Today the courses were a Seafood, A Poultry, A Meat and two desserts. We made up our own thing from a "Mystery Basket". My team and I made a Pyllo Bowl with a Quince Maple...
