NorCal!
7/2
Today was cool. We went to a special stop. A student has an uncle who is at a winery in Cali, so she got us a tour. And it was a great, cool place. Huge lavender garden with lots of lavender products, all house made…oh, and their wine was pretty good too…..but it's hard to drink wine at 10ish in the morning, lol.
I got some lavender honey for my sister, and some neat lavender/chamomile balmish type stuff for me and my mother, and we were off...

The weekend! Well, Friday night my roomie and a friend went to the lounge in the hotel, to check out the band and have a drink. The lounge was overrun with older drunk peopletrying to dance. It was great. So funny. I had a Sex on The Beach, my favorite drink, and watched the drunk people dance. The band wasnt kickin. Some older group doing covers. So we left at around tenthirty and went to the diner across the street for a quick bite.
I was, admittidly, a wee bit tispy. One drin...

Our first winery! Sort of. Yesterday they squeezed one in. But this is our first offical one.
Iron Horse was pretty interesting….if by pretty interesting you mean obsencly boring. I mean, it was an amazing place, but…I hate to sound like a CIA-Grad with a chip on my shoulder, but….we all know something about wine, even me…and they went throug, in a detailed, step-by step over a 90 minute period..of how wine is made….the joke...

Sorry I havent been updating! But I'll talk about the rest of my time now.
The Flamingo, was an okay place. Internet charges were obsence. $5/hr. Are you kidding me?
This was supposed to be the be-all-end-all of hotels, but it was only average.
I got my ears pierced? Yup. Only the normal kind though, because when I got them done when I was younger, they messed it up and closed up. Okay, on with the trip=)

Mendocino Sea Vegatable!! Okay, so itt's in this tiny bitty town, this old hippie guy and his hippie wife go down to the beach and harvest this stuff on low tide themselves, then dry it and do whatever with it…man…this couple was…the most unquie people who've hosted us yet. To just go ahead an say it..I think they do a little more than seaweed harvesting. They were pretty funny. As we were walking down the path to the ocean, we stopped and the guy talked for a...

Yolo Ranch!
We checked out of our hotel, and went to Yolo Ranch, which was a bit away, up long, curvy mountains forevvverrr…it took forever and ever of driving. But the ranch was awesome. The guy was cool, and showed us around, we did a bus tour, up and down and over more mountainous paths, and then we went back for lunch: Beef Sausages, grilled. Grilled veggies, potatoes au gratin, fruit and grilled fillet mingion…nice! The food was great! Again, it was nice to have a...

We went to a few ranches today. First, we went to this Farm that had tomatoes, asparagus, peaches, melons, lots of things. They were really nice and gave us a few flats of tomatoes (which, as I type this on the 28th, are still floating around) They gave us small cherry tomatoes. Im not a fan of eating tomatoes though, but they looked good.
After, we went to Taber Ranch, an olive oil place. We tried some pretty good Extra Virgin Olive Oil. He talked for a bit about olives and...

Today was a so so day. UC Davis was really really cool. It was fun, the farm was huge, four people had to wrassle up some sheep, it was really funny. Ha, then, after sheep inspecting, we went to this…sheep processing plant…and we saw some sheep carcasses..lol…I think the low point was the guy held up a fabricated meated sheep head..eyes intact…woot. It was like "hey, lets go pet some sheep and then go see their carcasses…good times."
After,...

Today Stefan, Holly and I went to the Sacremento Zoo, and then to Old Sac for the day. It was soo much fun. The zoo was small and cute. And our tickets were half off cause we had a thing from the hotel, so it was cheap.
Old Sac was cool, lots of old timey stores and cafes and delis, steam trains, boats etc. it was fun to walk around and hang out. The rest of the night we hung out by the pool, hung out and grabbed a bite at Mcd's (I never have had so much fast food...

Endive Farm!! (Ahn-deeve) It was SO COOL! I never knew they grew Endive in the dark! It was really cool. The president showed us around was really cool and so down to earth and just so awesome. His staff cooked lunch for us, apps of pizza, endive salad and lunch was fingerling potatoes, stuffed quail and some kinda creamy white bean salad. And dessert of strawberry- Rhubarb pie. As much as I love restaurants and dining out/drinking wine and stuff, it was so nice...

Another farm day! Garlic farm was really cool, tons of freaking garlic. Than to Gayle's Bakery for lunch. The turkey sandwich, I got a sticky bun piled with peacans and that gooey caramel goodness. The place was busy and cute. After, we went to UCSC's Farm for a tour. It was cool, it reminded me of a hippie commune. Thehy had fruit, veg, flowers, composts, bees, herbs. It was really, really cool.
We got to walk on the Boardwalk in Santa Cruz, it...

Aquarium Day!! Otters were soooooo cute! Sustainable Fish Video was/is probably enough to make me want to eat less fish and meat. I have a link if you are interested.
It was fun to walk around and see fish and have an easier day than usual. We had a mea of sustainable fish and it was pretty great.
After I just worked on my outline and hung out by the pool

6/18- Short. loong bus Ride, day at a fish peir. Basically a cranky day, so let's just leave it at that =P

Farm Day! We saw baby iceburg (smaller than regular ice burg, which makes it more household friendly because you dont throw out half a head of lettuce, I guess) Farm hands harvesting and packaging romaine by hand right on the field. Hot as hell! We went to In and Out for lunch….43 people at once…it was a bit crazy chaotic. But I kept it...

6/17 Stephan, Holly and I walked to Lombard Street. It was, in fact, steep and windy (again, the turny windy) We walked up Hyde Street, another steep, steep hill that had to be taken up with long, steep strides..or the tiny slow and steady path, but I kind of got bored with both and did a wide strided quick walk, alternating with short runningy steps. It seemed the fastest and most fun and untoursty way to go…but with one of my friends having an $800 camera and a case on him it...
