Raleigh
actually, I live here
Thought It would only be right to rep the town in which I was born and raised, even though it doesnt have much to show for itself. Raleigh isn’t really a big city, its mainly home to our government (of course, its the capital of North Carolina) and people. we have some great universities here, Research Triangle Park nearby, and some wonderful parks. As far as tourism, I dont really know what I can offer you. there are a few nice museums downtown, old houses you can tour, and Pullen Park is great for kids. it has an old fashioned carousel that I used to LOVE, and little boats to ride around in and such. if you head out of town to the north, on capital boulevard, you will find lots of shopping. to the east and south, you’ll find cows and cotton and tobacco. if you head out to the west, you’ll find the town of Cary, which is widely regarded as the “Contaminated Area of Relocated Yankees” (all come down to work at the before-mentioned RTP) and while we love them and welcome them with semi-opened arms, we’re also quick to admit they’re not much to see either, if you’re a tourist looking for amusement. With that said, while I love my hometown, I’m not going to advise you to plan a vacation around it. if you happen to be in the area, your best bet would be to hit a few museums downtown and drop by Moore’s Square, and admire our newly revamped Fayetteville Street.
have fun and enjoy your visit :-)
