With a friendly staff on hand and more couches in its lobby than a frat house, the hotel is elaborate without feeling exclusive. Its 465 rooms recently underwent a major renovation. They are beautifully appointed in warm tones of cream and gold, elegant but comfortable, and somewhat European in feel. Next door to the Peabody is the Peabody Place Mall, certifying the locale as the best way to splurge your way through Memphis.
