Southern hospitality
The Gastonian was the first Savannah bed and breakfast I visited, and it remains one of my favorites. The Gastonian is very pretty, but relaxed enough that you don’t feel like you’re visiting your uptight aunt who won’t let you sit on the “good furniture.” The Caracalla Suite, the Gastonian’s honeymoon suite, is by far my favorite guest room, and it’s the Gastonian’s most popular room. You’ll need to plan ahead and book well in advance if you want to stay in it, but it’s worth the extra effort; you won’t be disappointed. The folks who work here are truly gracious and helpful, and they make you feel most welcome; they also know when to give you a little space to enjoy things at your own pace. The Gastonian embodies the gracious spirit of the South, and I always look forward to going back.
