Ritz-Carlton Georgetown

Ritz-Carlton Georgetown

quote:

Constructed within the remnants of an incinerator with a 130-foot smokestack, the Georgetown Ritz-Carlton is an unusual sight in this college neighborhood. After a multimillion-dollar construction, the hotel opened in 2003 to acclaim from architects and tourists alike. From the outside, it certainly doesn’t look like a Ritz-Carlton, and that’s part of its appeal. Eat at the base of the smokestack in the Fahrenheit Restaurant, or order the Fahrenheit Five martini at the Ritz-Carlton bar. When you’ve had your fill, descend through a brick corridor to your room and lose yourself amid the ornate golds, reds and greens of the appointments and furnishings. As you might expect, the guest rooms feature lots of dark wood accoutrements, marble bath fixtures and a great deal of space for stretching out. Give in to luxury at the Ritz-Carlton’s boutique spa, where you can enjoy Le Renovateur, a treatment based on specially grown French sunflowers. Strut your stuff in nearby shopper’s paradise Cady’s Alley, where couture meets capital.
