Beautiful old architecture, but.....

The outside of the hotel is magnificent. The grounds are beautiful. The island is charming and peaceful. The hotel is shabby. Our room felt dingy and moldy. In fact, there was mold in the bathroom, along with plumbing circa 1979. I felt misled by the billing of the hotel I’d found on their website, not to mention ripped off. This hotel is not cheap. I could’ve stayed elsewhere and still enjoyed what I loved about the place, the grounds, the cute little shops, for they are open to anyone. While there are not many options to choose from on the island, should I return I will stay on oceanside next time in a condo or one of the hotels there.
