Nice Beach
We stayed at the Sheraton Kauai in 2001 and I would definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Kauai. It is situated on a really nice beach and it has two (sort of small) pools, one on the beach and the other in the "garden area." The hotel has the feel of a smaller hotel with great landscaping and Polynesian-style buildings. None of the buildings are taller than four stories. We were on the top floor which I would recommend because the ceilings are vaulted and the room seems much bigger (although it is plenty big anyway.) There is a $20 per day resort fee, although our package deal included this, which gets you a free buffet breakfast, parking, and a mai tai hour from 5 - 6 PM. The breakfast was good because it lasted from 6:30 - 10:30 AM and we found the food to be good. At first $20 a day seemed a little high for these things, but if you take advantage of the breakfast and mai tais it's worth it. The hotel also offered 4 computers in the lobby with free internet access, which is a nice touch. We didn't feel constantly nickel-and-dimed like we had at some other hotels in the past. We drove around the island and checked out the other hotels we were considering (the Marriott, Radisson, Hyatt.) For the money I would definitely stay at the Sheraton, we were not disappointed at all.Reviewed on: June 25, 2008
