King William Historic District

Great Place for First Friday

The King Williams’ neighborhood is one of the oldest neighborhoods in San Antonio. It is in the downtown area and within walking distance of the Riverwalk. Besides some really great restaurants like China Latina or the Mad Hatter, cool old buildings and phenomenal Victorian homes, it has one of the best kept local secrets every first Friday of the month.

Called First Friday the district turns into a monthly art festival with local artists and artisans selling their wares from sidewalk canopies or collapsible tables parked on front lawns. The mood is low key and fun. No First Friday is the same as another and you never know what kind of treasures and bargains you will find.

If you are in San Antonio and it’s the first Friday of the month take a trip to the neighborhood. Plan to get their early, park in the neighborhood streets close to Alamo St and enjoy!

Thanks I'll remember this for my next trip to San Antonio. I did enjoy the river walk and lovely food around that vicinity.
