Cool stop for a hot day

I feel kinda of bad for Splashtown since it gets a bad rep sometimes. It must be hard to be just up the road from what is probably the premier waterpark in the U.S.; however, for a small waterpark set in an urban environment it does the trick in keeping the locals cool on hot summer days for a decent price.

It is an older water park. It has the basic slides, a wave pool and a small river for floating. The park is never terribly crowded and it is pretty easy to still find a chair at noon.

What it is missing though is sufficient shade from the Texas summer sun. Bring lots of sunscreen and be prepared to reapply often.

With that said, if you are looking for a place to spend a hot afternoon at a reasonable cost that the kids will enjoy – this is a good place to go.
