Where the Hoi Polloi of Dallas Enjoy Spending their Dough

I just visited the lovely city of Dallas for the first time this past week. One of the places I sought out after seeing it online was the Highland Park Village. It is pretty much standard as a "lifestyle mall" goes, but with one caveat ~ many of the shops were much more upscale than what you'd find in a regular lifestyle mall. I first ventured to the Highland Park Village on a Friday afternoon. There wasn't too much activity, but I did encounter a handful of elegantly turned-out, dressed from head to fashionable-spike-heels deb-type ladies. I actually felt very underdressed in my Da Nang cargoes and tee. I came away with a sour taste in my mouth. but decided to try once more on the weekend. I went back on Sunday afternoon and encountered a decent crowd of people, much more relaxed and dressed-down than what I'd previously encountered. I actually began to feel that this could be a great place to shop! It turned out to be an enjoyable experience and I'd recommend seeing it ~ also, be sure to enjoy the surrounding homes in the neighborhood, as they're quite beautiful and stately.
