Great Location But In Need of Makeover

On the plus side, the Galleria is in a prime location in downtown, just off Market and close to the best shopping and convention locations. It is also only a few blocks from the Embarcadero and views of the Bay and Bay Bridge. On the downside, it has a cramped, railroad-car lobby, old cranky elevators (almost missed a meeting waiting for one), and the rooms are in need of a makeover, with plumbing fixtures, door hardware, etc., that are long past their prime. It has its charms, but if you’re looking for spacious soaring lobbies and clean modern rooms, this would not be a good choice.
