Absolutely top notch. With over a century of history (since 1879), this onsen is not to be missed. Just entering the building you just get a feeling of the old-world Japenese experience with the exposed beam architecture and wood flooring. The baths are gender-separate and you can relax in the traditional group style, or be a bit more adventurous and go for the sand-bath- think your childhood "buried up to your head at the beach" experience, but warm womb-like. It may look sludgey and dark, but the relaxation you get is an experience not to be missed!
