Outdoor extravaganza

Nichols Arboretum is right by the University of Michigan, offering numerous trails, a peony garden (a must see in the spring!), a prairie, and lots of open area. When it’s warm out, you’re bound to find the area full of people. However, it’s so big, there’s plenty of room for everyone! In the fall, there are many different colors to be found amongst the trees. This is also a favorite place to hold “travelling” plays, where scenes are done in various locations and the audience follows the play as it progresses through the park.
