Day 1-really night 1 because we arrived so late. Flawless plane trip and then tube to our hotel. Got to walk around a bit and see the city. We were staying right next to Hyde Park so our neighborhood was great. Had a drink or two at the bar and fell fast asleep.

Paris
Day 1- took the Eurostar train to Paris. The language barrier was apparent as soon as we stepped off the train but non-the less found our way by metro to the hotel. Tiny little place. Charming and very European (aka, anyone that is not under 6 foot and 200 lbs would have a hard time in the elevator, shower or bed). We immediately went to the Eiffel Tower to see it at night. The sight is truly spectacular...

Amsterdam
Well, I can’t say that this particular morning started out well. I woke up with a wicked hangover and could barely make it up and to the train. My hair spray exploded in my suitcase on the subway ride over and dripped all down the metro and soaked my clothes. We made the train as it was about to leave only to find that our “sweet deal” on the tickets meant that we would not be getting an...

Thanksgiving in KC
We went to Kansas City over Thanksgiving for an early anniversary and had a great time. It's nice to go somewhere that you have been, or in our case, lived so you don’t feel obligated to do any touristy things (not that KC is super tourist or anything). Went to Tom Fooleries on Wednesday night. We're sentimental to the place because it was our old Cheers. There was an awesome band that played Otis Redding, Sam Cooke, Ray C. and Marvin G. We did some serious...

Bluestem Review
I tend to get myself worked up about food, certain restaurants especially. I wanted to try out Bluestem for a few different reasons. First, that the owners, a husband and wife duo, both worked a Tru in Chicago. Also because KC really doesn’t have any “fancy” restaurants. Fancy, as in, places that serve an amuse bouche or offer a tasting menu or something like that. So, Nate and I decided to save our pennies and go for our anniversary dinner. The space...

Not all confederate flags and razorbacks
Nate had blueberry pancakes and a bag packed when I woke up Saturday morning. We took a short road trip to Eureka Springs. I love this little town and used to go with Sarissa lots of summers growing up. It was even better than I remember. An unique place with lots of artists and beautiful scenery. We stayed at the historic Basin Park Hotel. I didn’t see any ghosts but it was a little creepy for some reason. Had lunch at New Delhi Indian restaurant and dinner at DiVito’s....

We went for a quick weekend getaway to sunny Cali… We stayed at the Coast Hotel in Long Beach. It was a great hotel right on the water. The best part was that our suite had a huge balcony that overlooked the ocean. We took the ferry to Catalina Island and stayed there all of Saturday. The trip over was rough but so worth it. Catalina is beautiful. Huge mountains, gorgeous beaches and great shops and restaurants. We had lunch at Armstrong's and ate the swordfish that was...

East Coast Trip
I finally got to visit Maine… Nate and I have always had this fasination with Maine. We finally able to go and stay in our dear friends Mike and Anne’s home. We decided to fly into Conneticut and rent a car. From there we went to Cape Cod. It was absolutely lovely. I loved this area, the homes were really cute and the beaches were great. It had this really cool, small Northeastern town vibe. From there we drove to Maine and spent about a week there. We ate lots and lots of...

Florida
Went to FL to visit Sarissa.. I went to Florida this weekend to visit Sarissa (we all miss her to pieces). What a great trip I had. Friday night we met Emily and Molly (my beloved cousins) for dinner and drinks. We spend Saturday at Honeymoon Island. This is truly one of the most beautiful beaches that I have been to. Sarissa and I were able to walk out about a quarter of a mile and still touch. Lots of waves to knock us over too! At one point we saw everyone gathered around what we...

New Orleans
Our trip to NOLA Nate and I decided to take a trip to NOLA for a few different reasons. The first being that we had both wanted to go down after the hurricane and see how this amazing place was affected. Also, we love this city, we love the music, the food and the people. It’s an easy and beautiful drive from Missouri and we are always down for a road trip. We left about 5:30 on a Tuesday night and headed to Memphis (another of our...

Beth Bachelorette Party in KC Had a girl’s weekend in K.C. Thought I would write a few reviews b/c I had not been here in over a year. Woke up and all met at my house. 8 of us drove straight to the casinos where I promptly lost my precious Benjamin in the time it took me to suck down my vodka cranberry. Sat around the black jack table and gambled with the girls. So much fun. Most of the girls broke even and we left to check in. Had two rooms at the Marriott Country Club Plaza. The...
