We went for a quick weekend getaway to sunny Cali… We stayed at the Coast Hotel in Long Beach. It was a great hotel right on the water. The best part was that our suite had a huge balcony that overlooked the ocean. We took the ferry to Catalina Island and stayed there all of Saturday. The trip over was rough but so worth it. Catalina is beautiful. Huge mountains, gorgeous beaches and great shops and restaurants. We had lunch at Armstrong's and ate the swordfish that was caught an hour before. We rented bikes to really explore the island. We peddled up the mountains that gave us a major work out. The views were amazing and we stopped and shopped at some gourmet food stores and for ice cream. The rest of the day was spent under a thatched roof bar sipping Pacifico’s. It doesn’t get much better than that.
