New York, New York

A blog about New York, NY
I am going to be in New York for 3 days next weekend.  What do I absolutely have to do while I’m there?  I’ve never been, and I don’t know when I’ll get to go back.  Obviously I have The Statue of Liberty and the Empire State Building on my list, but what else should I be sure to see?  Please let me know if you’ve got some great places to see/things to do for my list.  The obvious as well as the obscure are welcome.  Tha...

The Philadelphia Pass

I am considering taking off for the long weekend and going to Philadelphia.  I've never been there before and know very little about it.  I saw something called the Philadelphia Pass online and am wondering if anyone knows of it or has used it before?  I will be going with my husband, two young kids, and my parents.  What are some fantastic things to do in Philly that I just shouldn't miss?  Anyone, ideas would be greatly appreciated!

Things to do with kids in DC?

So my husband is going to DC for work for a couple of months, and the kids and I are joining him for a month after school ends in 3 weeks.  I have been looking up some great places to visit in DC here on Gusto, but I can't really tell from the descriptions what places are really good for girls aged 6 and 2-1/2.  I will have the girls all day on weekdays while my husband is at work, so I'm looking for places that are user friendly for one parent with multiple...

Reminiscence

All of this reviewing of places I've been and uploading of photos is making me reminisce about my trips.  I've especially been reminiscing about Finland.  Those were some great trips.  I am anxious to go back again.  Of course it's half way around the world, but I want to go there again.  I feel a connection with Finland because my husband is half-Finnish and his grandmother and his uncle's family are still there.  And I've just...

London Calling

I have been to London a couple of times before and I am itching to go again.  I really just want to pick up this summer and go for a week or two, but my husband and I are planning a big trip for next year.  How do I justify taking a little trip to London this year when we are saving up for next year?  The only way would be if I could find some ridiculously cheap airfare and hotels that even he couldn't say no to.  So, does anyone know of any really cheap...

Australia 2008

So my husband and I are planning a 2008 trip to Australia.  He wants to go to Melbourne, Tasmania (Hobart), and maybe Sydney.  I have seen those deals where you can fly to Oz from say L.A. and get three in country flights for one price.  They also have those deals coupled with hotels.  Anyone ever done that before?  My husband thinks we can get our own hotels and get a cheaper price overall, but I'm not sure.  Anyway, I'm glad to have a year plus to...
