Nice city

Like most places, La Mesa has its good parts and its bad parts. We lived in an older neighborhood here for several years. It wasn’t a bad place to live. But we were astounded when a few years after we moved our little 1100 square foot house sold for $480,000. That’s California prices for you. There doesn’t seem to be a lot to do in La Mesa proper. It seems mostly like residential areas. But that’s okay because, like the rest of San Diego, it’s hard to distinguish between city boundaries. If you need to go somewhere in particular, you can just hop on the freeway and you’re there within 20 minutes. La Mesa does have some upscale neighborhoods like the ones near Mt. Helix, but not all of La Mesa is like that. But regardless of where you live, La Mesa is a good place.
