Taking the ham and the hog out of Hammenhog

If you're looking for a small town with excellent cafes, nestled in some of Sweden's most beautiful countryside then Hammenhög's a great place to visit. It is five minutes drive from the coast and some lovely beaches and also five minutes drive from Glemmingehus one of the most impressive medieval castles in Northern Europe.

The name Hammenhög is a bit off putting, but in Swedish hög means high and Hammen could mean the Ham. So Hammenhög might just mean the high ham or it might mean the high area that I bloke called Hamm once laid claim to, I really don't know...
