Current location: Figure 8 Island in North Carolina

Thoroughly enjoying Figure 8 Island with the family for some post-Christmas relaxation time. Seriously wishing that I was able to relax though.  Figure 8 is a tiny gated island with nothing but beautiful homes along the shore.  If you want to get away, this is the type of place to do it.  Unfortunately, my first thought upon arrival was to find Internet connection so I could at least try to get a bit of work done. I feel caught up now, though, and am able to enjoy the downtime with the people I love. Going to sleep to the sound of crashing waves has such a calming effect on me, and waves come extremely close to the house that we rented.  Unfortunately, this area was hit with serveral hurricanes in a short amount of time.  So many of the duens have already been destroyed that another storm would probably wupe out many of these beautiful homes. Thankful that I have to chance to be here, and trying my hardest to take some time to breathe.
