I'm off!
This morning I'm off to Vancouver for a couple of days. Mostly to go to the dentist at the University of British Columbia dental school – I'm going to start getting implants. Ghastly expensive, but 1/3 the price of a regular dentist!
But, it's also an opportunity to see some friends. Tonight, I'm planning dinner at my favourite sushi place in New Westminster,
The best place to eat lunch in Malmö!
Saluhalen, on the corner of Lilatorget in Malmö, about 5 minutes from the train station, is great for eating lunch. They have about 15 different small restaurants, so there's plenty of choice. My favorite place is the bagel shop, since it's hard to find real bagels in Sweden! I recommend the "Little Italy" bagel- delicious! There's also Thai, Pasta, Swedish food, fish, and almost anything else you could want. Most places have lunch specials that are reasonably...
The best food in Penang!
The first day, we looked all over Little India for a normal restaurant where you can sit down, order off the menu, and they make it fresh. My boyfriend was worried about getting sick from food that's been sitting for awhile, and I was worried about the food being too spicy- I wanted to order it and ask them to make it mild. We finally gave up and picked a place. It turned out to be THE BEST food! Of course we didn't get sick, and they had mild choices. I...

SUPPORT YOUR LOCAL BUSINESSES!! (if they are good)
I just saw that a favorite restaurant here in Springfield has gone out of business. It was called the Tropical Breezes Cafe. We joked because the "tropical breeze" turned out to be an oscillating fan on the counter.
It was near our house and we passed it twice a day for a year before trying it. It was a locally-owned place, of questionable appearance. It was in a strip center. On top of that...

Emeril's Delmonico Steakhouse and Tchoup Chop
This is my first blog here, so let me just say that I am total "foodie"!! We are leaving for Vegas next week and I have spent more hours looking for places to eat than cool things to do and see.
So, with that said, I have, without a doubt, had THE best meal of my entire life at Emeril's Tchoup Chop in Orlando. My sister and I were planning our parents 50th wedding anniversary, it included a...
Wings
Wings are one of my favorite food. It can be hard to find good wings at a good price. If you live in the Atlanta area and go to college then I have a execellent place for you. J. R. Crickets on Spring St. in downtown Atlanta is great. They have amazing wings and on Mondays, college students receive 1/2 off their order of 70 or more wings. This is amazing because 70 wings is only about $35.00! This is definitely a place to check out.
Adding Awesome Places
So, I was exchanging emails today with Julie, from Gusto, about how to get places that have closed removed from Gusto and how to add my favorite places that aren't on here. I am psyched. There are places in the twin cities that I adore. Places that I send everyone I know. Places that I "Bzzz" about. And the opportunity to get them out there on this site is amazing. So, if you're ever in the Twin Cities, or if you're from the Twin...
Asian Food in Vancouver
I'm in the midst of doing reviews for restaurants in Vancouver, British Columbia, and I realize, except for the odd one, I don't recognize any of the Asian restaurant names. So, I thought I'd write a blog entry about them.
If you're planning a trip to Vancouver, prepare your taste buds for some of the best (and cheapest!) food from that region.
Vancouver, and all of the cities that make up the Greater Vancouver Regional District ("Vancouver" to the...

Swanky!
So, Lotus was totally swanky with it signature drinks, "list to get in" and food served in chinese food cartons vs. plates. We had a really good time.

South of the Border
Just got back from a yummy business lunch at Mary Ann's on W. Broadway. Talk about great Mexican food at a fantastic price. Their enchiladas are fantastic – I get them every time I go.
Don't miss their white sangria, even if you do have to return to the offfice. It's worth the breath mint.

Bluestem Review
I tend to get myself worked up about food, certain restaurants especially. I wanted to try out Bluestem for a few different reasons. First, that the owners, a husband and wife duo, both worked a Tru in Chicago. Also because KC really doesn’t have any “fancy” restaurants. Fancy, as in, places that serve an amuse bouche or offer a tasting menu or something like that. So, Nate and I decided to save our pennies and go for our anniversary dinner. The space...

Citrico's Part 7
My first impression of this place was “Wow.” The building itself was amazing. I jokingly asked Matthew how someone like him managed to work in a place like this (but he really has talent) We got to Citrco and had to wait 10-15 minutes, which I was okay with. We sat and watched fireworks that were going off somewhere in Magic Kingdom and talked quietly. He was trying to impress me with his vast knowledge of Disney. Which was kinda cute but kinda dopey. Finally with a...
