Two rules to make sure Disneyland really is the happiest place on earth: Arrive early and plan your attack. For the uninitiated, the park is divided into lands: Fantasyland, Tomorrowland, Frontierland, Adventureland, Critter Country, New Orleans Square and Mickey’s Toontown. Get a FASTPASS for the big attractions; these vouchers allow you onto rides at specified times and are a must for avoiding time-consuming lines. Thrill-seekers will hit the indoor roller coaster, Space Mountain, the fast and twisty Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, Indiana Jones Adventure, Star Tours and the park’s landmark, the Matterhorn. Note that super-popular Pirates of the Caribbean and Haunted Mansion don’t issue a FASTPASS, so ride these first. Little ones should visit Mickey and Minnie in their houses, ride Dumbo, Peter Pan’s Flight and Roger Rabbit’s Car Toon Spin. Characters appear at scheduled times for autographs and hugs; the lines for princesses can get rock-star long. Disneyland’s parades and fireworks spectaculars can give tired feet a rest, as can the Enchanted Tiki Room, Jungle Cruise, Storybook Land Canal Boats and Disneyland Railroad. Unless you’re here for more than one day, eat quickly, and, no matter what, don’t miss Walt Disney’s crowning achievement, It’s a Small World.

hidden gem attraction

Reviewed by Jgerards on June 30, 2008

Jgerards' rating:

"As a Southern California resident, I have been to Disneyland more than my fair share of times, especially after getting an annual pass. But it wasn't until a year after I got the pass that I was introduced to one of the park attractions that I never knew about before. Located at California Adventure in the same building that holds the Snow White art gallery, the attraction is called Turtle Talk. It is in a movie theatre of sorts with an open floor in the front for children to sit. The attraction features an animated Crush from Finding Nemo that comes out and literally interacts with the kids by taking questions and answering them in ways that make it apparent that it is not just a pre-recorded video. It is excellent for kids, and the adults will be intrigued by how it actually works behind the screen."

"DisneyLand has it all from the rides to the shows (even firework shows). The only reason i gave it 4 and not 5 stars is bc of the price. But if you're on vacation most ppl dont mind spending money =]"

Don't forget to include annual parking with the purchase. You can visit both parks with an exception on certain block-out dates.Disneylands has special events for Hallowen and X'mas. Make sure to visit the parks on these two special events. "

Fun, fun!

"How can anyone not like Disneyland?! Well, maybe if they go in the middle of summer, when it’s hot and overrun by children… The lines are not long at all if you go in the fall, especially in the middle of the week. & it’s Southern California, so the weather is usually warm anyhow! My mom is actually a bigger disney fan than I am, so she’s always wanting to go! My favorite ride is Space Mountain, although It’s A Small World is a classic!"

I'm going to Disneyland!

Reviewed by am-van on February 05, 2007

am-van's rating:

"What finer words in the English language are there to a 5 year old? We have visited Disneyland numerous times over the years being SoCal kids. Disneyland has always been fun, as a kid and as an adult. My kids love Dumbo, the Winnie the Pooh ride, the rocket ride, and It’s a Small World. My husband and I love Space Mountain, Matterhorn, Pirates of the Caribbean, and Indiana Jones. Disneyland is huge! I love FASTPASS as it cuts out a lot of wait time, but you can’t have more than 1 FASTPASS at a time. While you’re here, don’t miss out on California Adventure. It’s impossible to see and do everything in one day. Do yourself a favor and get a 3 day park hopper-a 5 day if you can afford it. If you’re lucky enough to be an annual pass holder, check out the annual pass holder specials they have and see if you can get a reduced rate on one of the Disneyland hotels. It will cost you, but you won’t be disappointed."

"Come on, everyone knows Disneyland. Even if you aren’t a kid anymore, you can still have some fun here. Disneyland has grown and in my opinion, has becomes much more better over the years. They usually have some kind of special ticket price if you live in Southern California."

A fun filled vacation spot...

Reviewed by sassylaurie on January 09, 2007

sassylaurie's rating:

"I was here with my sister and my nephew for the park’s 45th anniversary, and what a fun anniversay it was. The food was expensive, but the time was quite memorable. One of the first rides we went on was the small world. they had little figurines that represented all the states and beyond. it was so intrique, and highly involved decorationwise, and mechanical wise. At times the figures were right in front of you, and you felt almost like they were real. It’s really well done ride."
