The Millennium Biltmore Hotel is a legend. Located right in the middle of downtown L.A., it’s just four blocks from the Performing Arts Center. Inspired by Italian Renaissance design, the Biltmore was the largest and most fabulous hotel west of Chicago when it opened in 1923 and began hosting high-society matrons, movie stars and executives, royalty, presidents, and travelers. Beautifully preserved and restored thanks to a $10 million renovation, the lobby has hand painted ceiling frescoes and the original tile indoor pool highlighting old days of Pompeii. L.A. magazine named the hotel’s Gallery Bar and Cognac Room as "one of the best places in town to have a cocktail." Smeraldi’s Restaurant serves up delicious California fare. One of the best Japanese spots downtown, Sai Sai offers guests traditional and modern Japanese cuisine, including Kaki Shishito (pan fried oyster on the half shell) and Yellow Tail Ceviche. In detailed Rococo design, the Rendezvous Court is the place to enjoy cocktails, gourmet and herbal teas, sandwiches, pastries, scones, and sparkling wines. The Biltmore’s concierge services and health club can’t be beat. Warm gold, cream, and ivory accented with rich woods, window treatments, handsome furniture, and marble baths can be found in the guestrooms.
