"This is Universal Studios’ bid to diversify beyond the theme park and become more of a destination for the masses. While I can’t say you’ll find all that many people who actually live in Orlando hanging out here (the crowd is definitely tourists, tourists, and more tourists), this outside complex is actually fun if you don’t mind all the chain restaurants and stores. It’s nicely landscaped, situated on the water, and offers enough diversions to keep you occupied for the night. It’s family friendly during the day, and turns into more of a bar scene at night thanks to the many live music clubs. There are always events going on, from beer festivals to jazz concerts, and Universal Studios CityWalk is between the theme park and hotels, making it super convenient for visitors."
