"Mercer Caverns is a nice cavern. If you’ve been to another cavern, it’s nothing exciting- I’ve been to a bunch of caverns, and they’re all pretty much the same! This one is rather small. You walk down the stairs, and the “room” in the cavern is quite large, with a lot of nice formations (I know nothing about caves! They looked interesting, though!), but the area where you stand and can walk isn’t large. So it’s not an all-day activity- more like half an hour or so. But it’s quite nice, and cool down there, so it’s great in the summer! There’s also gold panning, where you can buy a little bag full of silt, and pan for gold in the water. It’s a fun trip for kids. The gift shop sells rocks and cave stuff."
