Surrounded by coastal mountains and the Pacific Ocean, this world-class museum was modeled after the Villa deiPapiri, a first-century Roman country home. Dedicated to the study of the classical world, it serves as home to the UCLA/Getty Master’s Program, which trains young conservators, and features over 1,200 antiquities in 23 galleries. Six additional areas display annually changing exhibitions. The Villa also includes a 450-seat outdoor theater, and rooms where children can learn about art hands-on.
