Fun for adults and kids, this museum-on-water is the focal point of San Diegos historic Embarcadero Promenade. Comprised of several painstakingly restored historic ships, it is a tribute to the sea-faring age. One of the ships showcased here is the Star of India (1863), a stunning vision that graces the coastline as the worlds oldest actively-sailed, square-rigged ship. Admission: USD10 adults; USD8 seniors (62+), active military and children (13-17); USD7 children ages 6-12.

Ships!

"I’m not too into Maritime history or anything, but this was a nice museum anyhow. It’s on old restored boats! The biggest one, The Star Of India, is quite beautiful. There were a lot of neat things from the days when they used the ships, and it’s way more interesting walking around an actual ship than a boring museum in a house with just information on and pictures of ships! You can see The Star of India from the pier, too, if you just want to take a quick look from the outside for free, and aren’t that interested in going on the boat."
