"This place which was once considered the outpost for the Spanish in the 1700’s has now become a picnic area. You can either get around is by bus transportation, or you can walk. My friends and I sometimes have delightful picnics here. There’s so much to see and do. Even a tourist would have fon walking through som of the grounds. It can take some time to walk through the grounds, so be sure to give yourselves 2-3 hours at least to get through a good portion of it, if that’s what you have in mind. It has been part of an outpost, a hospital, an airfield, and festivals. The greenery is so neat and tidy, and well kept up. It even has a fund behind it, set up long ago, so it practically sustains itself monetary wise. "

"The views from the park were great (like everywhere in SF), and the nature was pretty. It’s really interesting for anyone who’s been in the military, or any military buffs. It’s also great to walk or bike around in- the park is quite big! It’s also close to the Exploritorium and the Golden Gate Bridge. If you aren’t especially interested in the army, I would save it for if you have an extended period of time in San Francisco, like over a week, or if you’ve been to the city a lot. But it’s a nice way to spend a sunny afternoon, walking around the trails! They also have a free shuttle to take you around, so take that instead of driving!"
