Fantastic!... for an airport!

"I always fly out of San Francisco, and since I live about 2 hours away, I have to take into account traffic (and, uh, getting lost, no matter how many times I’ve been there!), so I often get to the airport really early. I’m almost always in the international terminal, and it’s actually really nice! It doesn’t seem really huge like some airports, and since it’s fairly new, everything is well-designed and nice. There are small museum exhibits which are really fun- I’ve seen exhibits about everything from quilts to eyeglasses! There’s also a really cool wall with all these blocks and things glued to it- I love modern art, and I could look at this wall for hours, it’s so huge & has so many different things! I need to take a picture next time I’m there! I also love the store… I think it’s the SFMOMA store?? It has lots of arty stuff like books, and just cool stuff! It would be great if they could have some cheaper restaurants here (an In-N-Out!! I always stop on the way to the airport for my last hamburger before leaving California! Wouldn’t it be awesome to have one IN the airport??), but otherwise this is a pretty dang good airport!"

Good flying experience

"I remember this being a nice airport, as far as airports go. A Lappert’s (Hawaiian ice cream chain) in the terminal lessened the blow of just leaving the islands. We found plenty to keep us occupied when we arrived several hours early for a flight home."

This is a place you wouldn't mind getting stuck in..

"I remember coming to this airport like it was almost yesterday. I can still almost smell the thick, tasty taste of the brick over pizza from the Fireside cafe (terminal 3) and purchasing some really divine chocolate from The Embarcadero Treats place. This Airport has really elevolved,. Not only does it have it’s own Muesum, it hosts an actual Gucci’s, a Christian Learning Center, and a new cell phone wait room among other things. I recollect years ago thinking, airports should be more than just a gift store and a bar… Now there’s so much to do, you don’t always have the time to do it there, either. One last tip, make sure you stop by the Starbucks if you are a coffee drinker or a Green Tea Frapachino drinker like myself. Enjoy your airport next time you travel, because she sure is not the girl she used to be… She grew up, too."
