This Roman Catholic church, dating from 1851, was founded to serve San Francisco’s Irish community. That commitment is reflected in the churchs gold, green and white decor. Note, for example, the green-tinted rose window over the choir. The columns on either side of the nave are Connemara green marble imported from Ireland itself. What makes this neo-Gothic church especially worth seeing are the Tiffany stained glass windows glowing brightly beneath the vaulted ceiling. There are also display cases with photographs of the extensive damage to St. Patricks during the 1906 earthquake.

sassylaurie's rating:

"This building was made a long time ago for the Irish community. Traces of green, gold and white of which colors are prevelant in ireland, are also prevelant here. Every time I have seen this place, its height and beauty amaze me. On the inside, and you can still a little bit of them on the outside, are beautifl stained glass wondows. i really like those. They make awesome reflections hen the sunlight hits them. If you get the chance to stop by this place as a tourist, or as a local, it is definately breathtaking, and worth a moment of your time."
