Summary of United Artists Alexandria
The prodigious vertical marquee of this triplex showing first-run flicks is visible up and down Geary Boulevard. The neo-Egyptian pilasters decorating the exterior explain the name. This venerable theater was divided up in the early 80s, leaving the main auditorium virtually intact with its jumbo screen and Egyptian motifs. Upstairs in the former balcony, though, the two screens are smallish and the amenities are what you would find in any competent mulitplex. Assisted listening devices available. Only the main auditorium is wheelchair accessible.
