Summary of Audium
Since 1965, Audium, a theater of sound-sculpted space, has given concerts to be found nowhere else in the world. Performances take place in specially designed room in which 169 speakers have been built into the walls, ceiling, and floor. The audience members sit in total darkness as compositions blending music and natural sounds, such as the gurgling of a stream, swirl around, above and below them. The effect is eerie, dreamlike, and unforgettable. Performances last about 1 hour 10 minutes. Admission: $12; Children under 12 not admitted; cash only.
