Sure, Twin Peaks is perpetually teeming with camera-wielding tourists, but the sweeping views make braving the tour-bus crowd worth it. The scene spans from Bernal Hill to the south to the spires of Golden Gate Bridge to the north. In between, the city spreads out at your feet, and you can see down Market Street all the way to the Ferry Building. On clear days, gaze at the hills of Berkeley and Oakland, which lie just beyond the shimmering Bay waters. Behind you, Sutro Tower looms over the city. At night, the city and East Bay hills light up. Feeling especially fit? Instead of driving, embark on a grueling jog or bike ride up the winding road that leads to Twin Peaks.

The night view is breathtaking!

"the view at night here is so breathtaking. I(magine driving along in your car at night, stopping somewhere to park, then see for the first time the twin peaks lights in the city. This is what songs are written about folks. “When the lights go down in the city, and the sunshine’s on the Bay. i want to be there, in my city by the Bay..” I am pretty sure Steve perry meant to include these lights in his song. You can just sit there and gaze at them for swhile, till your lips turn blue from the cold just about. It’s aplace like no other, and it’s easy to miss once you move away from the city, and the view has changed. Come along on a ride sometime, and take a picture of this scene at night. that way, you always have the bright lights of the city to remind you of the fun you had here on your visit, no matter how long or how short it was."

Miss you!

"I used to be a very spoiled girl and lived in Twin Peaks. I never took for granted the spectacular views. I am now in Springfield, Mo. and although the Midwest has some lovely scenery, my backyard view is now of my crazy neighbor who walk around in her housecoat rather than the sparkling lights of San Francisco."

Amazing views

"The breathtaking views from here are incredible day or night. You get an almost 360-degree view of the entire Bay Area, from downtown to Golden Gate Park. On a really clear day, you can even make out the peak of Mt. Diablo in the East Bay. I personally prefer the night view, when the whole city glows and the Bay Bridge’s lights look like jewels strung across the Bay. But don’t bother coming up here on a foggy day; you won’t see a damn thing."
