"This is one of those places you walk into, and it’s order at the counter, then sit in your seat, and wait for the good food to come out time. I ordered a standard dish of rice, nan and curry and got out of the place with spending less than $20.00, which I thought was pretty cool. The ordering the food portion of the night took a little time for me to get adjusted to. Usually in regular resturants, you have someone come out to you and take your order. The food came out warm, but not too hot. The staff was pretty polite, and the place had a very basicness to it that was sort of appealing. If you are ever in the area, this might be just the place for you without breaking open your piggy bank."

"On the last night of a week long stay in SF, I was tired of the conference and missed my family. I had walked and walked to many exciting restaurants all week, but I wanted comfort food! Even though we do not have but one Indian restaurant in my home state (MT – and it’s 6 hours from my house), Indian/Pakistani is always my choice for warming up the soul and the body. There was a dingy site of this chain around the corner from my Chinatown/Financial District hotel. I went in my jammies and ordered my favorites – daal, aloo gobi, and naan and chutney. A delicious dinner – and great fun to pack back to my hotel looking slightly homeless as I tracked wonderful smells through the Holiday Inn Financial District’s (or was it Marriott) opening reception. It’s not fancy or even super sparkling clean, but I trust the kitchen and the food hits the perfect spot!"
