This is one of the charming (there really is no other word for it), small, family-run bakeries that dot North Beach. Each has a delicious repertoire of specialties. Here it is sacripantina, a cake filled with Zabaglione and soaked in Marsala wine. It is a luscious mix of sponge cake covered in perfectly made rich, sweet cream. You can buy this authentic Italian treat by the cup (it is too gooey to make a slice that holds its shape) or by the cake in several sizes. Prices vary, but the quality does not.

"This is one of the family-run bakeries that is chaming and small, and makes up part of North Beach. Each has a delicious part of it’s specialties. Sacripantina is a cake filled with Zabaglione and blended in with Marsala wine is one of this place’s specialties, and they make it fresh, in all sizes imaginable. Also, they have really good pastries and cookies to munch on, too… I really like their powdered sugar cookies. They are a tiny bit messy, but I love their homemade taste. If you haven’t tried anything here yet, I suggest some day you do. You might become a fan of this place yet."
