"I’ve been a member of the Aquarium on and off for years, it is always one of my favourite places to go.Why?Well, it’s in Stanley Park, in itself a reason to go.Plus – beluga whales, dolphins, sea lions, harbour seals, otters…and giant octopus, jellies, sharks, seahorses …and did I mention otters?and of course, the countless fishes, and frogs. The Amazon exhibit, where you have to take off a layer of clothing, it’s so hot and humid in this jungle exhibit…it has piranha, electric eels, birds, snakes, reptiles, and sloths (if you can find them hidden in the trees!). The best cafe in town is outdoors next to the beluga habitat – on a quiet weekday morning in the mild Vancouver winter, a coffee there is a moment of peaceful perfection with Stanley Park around you, and the only sound is of birdsong, quiet conversation, the odd seagull, the calm splashing of the belugas in their home."
