Out of the 5 plantation homes I've toured, Houmas House is my favorite. It has all of the essential elements for a perfect plantation - Live Oaks, an interesting story of the home and grounds and a great tour. The house has been recently restored and is privately owned which I think helps it stand out. The grounds are absolutely amazing and beautiful.
