Located on the edge of the George Washington University campus, Froggy Bottom Pub draws a friendly mix of undergrads, post-collegiates and after-work happy hour revelers. The three-level space leaves plenty of breathing room, with large, open dining rooms on the two upper floors and a cozy bar in the basement. The atmosphere is somewhat bland: You might mistake it for an Applebees or TGIFridays. Although Froggy Bottom doesn’t have the rowdiness of some other college joints, it’s got all the amenities, including cheap pitchers of beer, free pizza during weekend happy hours, and pool and foosball tables. The cheap house beers – as low as one dollar – are actually worth sampling, and the typical bar food is decent.
