As summer is approaching (today with the near 90's it feels like its here), I am starting to get stir crazy.  Its not that I really have anywhere that great to go, more that I just am starting to feel like its a waste to spend these beautiful days indoors.  So, what are our plans this summer.  Chicago- 2 weekends in a row... and we're driving... I know, its crazy.  But, the price is right.  First to the Pitchfork Music Festival in one of Chicago's city parks.  It is the second annual.  I am psyched for the music, the the notable exception of Yoko Ono.  I'm sorry if you like her music.  But I feel like she is one of those artists that is better experienced via CD or not at all.  Anyways, I'm bummed that they wasted good money to pay her to come when there are some kick-ass bands out there that are not on the schedule.  Anyways- if you live in the Chicago area- or are just looking for an excuse to head that way.  Tickets for the 2 day festival are a mere $35!!!  you can't beat that- the New Pornographers are going to be there!!!  Its the weekend of July 14th.  Shoot me a line if you're going- we can meet up!  Then the next weekend we are off to Sycamore, Ill. for a wedding.  It will be 28 hours of driving (plus our normal driving when we're in town) in 10 days.  Thankfully we don't have to take my reliable, but aging ford escort.  Wish us luck- and make sure to check out the Pitchfork Festival.  It is amazing if you like independent music.  Pitchfork Music Festival
