Griddle Cafe

Griddle Cafe

quote:

Cute names and huge portions are The Griddle’s defining characteristics. Try the Saturday Night Fever: buttermilk pancakes with Bailey’s mixed into the batter (but only if you’ve got nowhere to be afterward). The Teacher’s Pet (batter packed with cinnamon apples) earns an A-plus, and the portion equals about three breakfasts, so come hungry and take your time. Feeling whimsical? Free your inner child with the M&M/rainbow-sprinkles pancakes. You could order sensible salads, sandwiches, and chili at lunchtime – but the huevos rancheros, pancakes, and waffles are what make the place. There’s a U-shaped breakfast bar in the middle, booths all along the wall, and front and back entrances to accommodate those who require an incognito getaway. Parking on Sunset Boulevard is killer nearly any time of day, especially because of the insanely popular Baja Fresh and Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf across the street, so park it at the Rite-Aid in back. They allow it, and you’ll be able to walk right in to the Griddle Cafe. Last but not least, the coffee is served in individual presses, ensuring you truly have it your way.
