Whether you have kids or just want to feel like one again, the Miami Children’s Museum is a fine choice for entertainment and education. Located on Watson Island, the expansive 56,500-square-foot facility is very accessible for both Spanish and English speakers. The advantage of the Miami Children’s Museum lies in its wealth of facilities. There are 12 interactive galleries that stimulate the imagination and energy of the young. One popular exhibit is the Castle of Dreams, a two-story sand castle you can climb through, composed of sands from across the whole world. Another fun and fascinating stop is the bank exhibit. It allows children to walk through a six-foot piggy bank and design their own bills. During the sneak-attack lesson in saving, spending and earning, kids will have so much fun they won’t realize it’s educational. The Miami Children’s Museum also offers an extensive set of educational programs and classes. One particularly effective and fun class is the Music Together program. It helps parents and children explore music together via the use of songs, rhythmic activities, and music.
