Summary of Porcao
If you aren’t familiar with the way Brazilian churrascarias work, Porcão is the place to learn. The restaurant has a stunning location overlooking Biscayne Bay. From the gorgeous view of the Intercoastal waterway to the marble floors, Porcão radiates trendiness, as do the urban professionals who come here to wind down their weeks with live Brazilian music on Thursdays and Fridays. A churrascaria is all about meat, and Porcão is exceptional in this regard. You pay a flat fee per person (not inclusive of drinks, dessert, or tip) and are then entitled to all the meat and buffet appetizers you can eat. The appetizers range from salad to sushi to pickled quail eggs, but don’t fill up here; the main event is yet to come.
Waiters circle the dining room, pushing carts that feature various skewered cuts of meat. The meats include beef, steak, lamb, liver, chicken and sausage, which are grilled and seasoned perfectly, and then carved at your table if you indicate your readiness for them (by flipping your table’s disc to green). Try the filet mignon wrapped in bacon, tender and delectable. If you’re feeling brave, try Brazil’s national cocktail – the caipirinha. This drink is made with sugar, lime, ice and the key ingredient – genuine cachaca. A rather potent liquor made from sugar cane, cachaca has been used by Brazilians for hundreds of years for a variety of purposes, whether for recreation or as a substitute paint thinner.
