It is near Orlando attractions, but you won't want to leave this resort.

bfeivor's rating:

"Everything you need and possibly everything you want. As I approached the resort, I was already awed. In the midst of 230 acres, sits an impressive building. The lobby is understated but welcoming and check in efficient. However, you may need a GPS to find your room as the wings branch off of main hallways. As you enter, the entry angles into the suite with a large closet to the left and the bathroom to the right. There is a king size bed with luxurious bedding and lots of pillows, ample nightstands and a lounge chair with ottoman. There is a nice size desk with receptacles and data ports easily accessible. The resort has high-speed Internet, and the weekly rate is quite reasonable. There is a handsome dresser with a refrigerator hidden in a door on the side. On top the dresser there is a large 32” flat screen TV with a keyboard. The selection of movies, programming, games, etc provides something for everyone. Now the best part – the bathroom suite. First you enter a large open area with large vanity with a granite countertop and dual sinks. There is plenty of lighting and both a mirror over the vanity and a full-length mirror. In a separate room there is a large, double size shower, a Jacuzzi tub, a toilet and a bidet. The suite was so comfortable that I really didn’t want to leave it, but eventually I needed to eat. That was the next dilemma. There is a large selection of dining options within the resort. There’s a steakhouse, an Italian restaurant, a café, a pool grill, and a market. The first night for something quick, I choose the Monroe Street Market. It is like a corner grocery and liquor store and cafeteria. There is a large selection of food including pizza, pasta, hot and cold sandwiches, and more including wonderful desserts and the Creek Ice Creamery. I got a slice of pizza and a coke and took it to a table near the pool. The food was OK and the location nice. During the week, I had the opportunity to eat at the Osceola Café, and the food was excellent with huge portions. Some of my colleagues had the buffet and they said it was excellent also which I think is rare for a buffet. I also had a few drinks at the Headwaters Lounge. The atmosphere was comfortable and the drinks were good. For caffeine junkies there is Smooth Java which serves Starbucks!! The hotel also has a spa with a wide variety of treatments. There is an exercise facility which I did not check out. A number of tourist shops offer a wide variety of clothing, souvenirs, snacks, reading material, etc. There was an awesome art shop. It had very unique items. There were fiberglass sharks and stingrays painted like custom cars and bronze frogs and lizards. I highly recommend checking it out. There are four heated pools and two hot tubs. There are tennis courts, basketball, volleyball, tetherball, nature and walking trails, horseshoes, ping-pong, and a video game room. There is a youth club offering activities for children ages 4 to 14. I was attending a conference in the hotel. The conference facilities are amazing. There is 445,00 square feet of meeting/event space that can accommodate over 9,400 people. The meeting rooms were comfortable. Of course the chairs left a lot to be desired after sitting for 8 hours. The lighting, sound system, and other audiovisual amenities were good. Breakfast and lunch were catered. The food was amazing especially taking into consideration they were serving around 1,400 people. There was one dinner provided. I don’t know how they did it, but they served around 1,400 plates (either salmon, chicken, or filet mignon), and everything was excellent. You could cut the filet with a butter knife, and it was delicious. While I could have easily gone the whole week without leaving the resort, I did take the opportunity to go out one evening. I attended a pirate themed dinner show. It was fun and entertaining. "
