Push through the cool metal of the turnstile into Universal Studios and it’s clear you’re not on Main Street anymore. Raucous music blares as movie monsters of bygone years genially stalk you down the lot. Duck into an Irish pub for a refreshing beer, then unfurl your shiny map and debate whether to face the Mummy or the Terminator first. Designed as an alternative to the fairy-tale experience down the road, Universal Studios in Orlando is a park built around Hollywood-style thrills and chills. If confronting killer sharks, tornados and earthquakes isn’t enough to sate your action jones, then confront your demons directly in Fear Factor Live. Mosey on over to the audition center and see if you’ve got what it takes to star in this attraction, which uses real park guests as contestants. Sign on the dotted line and the next time your party sees you, you’ll be poured into spandex. Upper body strength and the willingness to eat anything will serve you well in this popular translation of the NBC hit. Only Universal Studios would dare to entice guests with the prospect of having spiders crawl on their faces. This park continues to pull out all the stops to deliver its own unique brand of theme park fun.

A Good Time

kimmer_allison23's rating:

"Universal Studios Orlando is a fantastic place to bring your family. It is great for children of all ages. There are so many things you can do and everything there is enjoyable. It is hard to get to everything in one day, so two days is the perfect amount of time. It was so much fun and i hope i can go again some day."

Expensive One day trip

Reviewed by rdelvalle on June 26, 2008

rdelvalle's rating:

"The price to get in is outrageous.....lived in Florida for 10 years and have only went once because of the price. $600 to get all five of us in! Then the food prices. We are lucky we only live a little over an hour away and didn't have to incur hotel charges! The actual park itself is fun, but you need more than a full day to experience everything. I would recommend, if the money is not an issue, planning a week for Orlando. I think two days would be enough to get the whole park experience."

Relaxing place to visit

Reviewed by Meanmarge on June 25, 2008

Meanmarge's rating:

"This park is one that I can go back to over and over. It is relaxing if you want it to be and you can see what you want to and leave the rest for another time. They have a good vairity of foods, shows and shops...for all budgets. Treat people like people, not herded cattle...LOL. "

Fun for all ages

"My wife, then-girlfriend, and I went by ourselves and had a blast. The park has many rides and attractions for all ages. We especially enjoyed the Spiderman ride. Back to the Future was cool, but left us with sore bodies from all the jolting around."

Family fun

"Lots of fun, lots to do. A great thing is that there is something for everyone, child or adult. I think I liked this better than Disney World itself."

A great family vacation spot.

Reviewed by Jeffsgirl on December 21, 2006

Jeffsgirl's rating:

"I believe I have more fun than my kids at Universal Studios. I was in awe of the different themes and the attention to detail. The rides were wonderful and the food options were great. I recommend a weekday visit for shorter lines. Luckily, you won't suffer from heatstroke waiting in the lines. Guests are kept cool by fans with mist being blown over the crowd. Very refreshing. This is a trip I want to take every year."
