This beautiful three-star hotel takes its name from Caron de Beaumarchais, the famous 18th century writer who used to live in the Rue vieille du Temple, in a bourgeoise townhouse that probably resembled this one. The decor of the hotel recreates the style of this era with a Louis XVI style fireplace, tiles from Burgundy and wood beams. The surrounding historical area of the Marais offers magnificent façades, picturesque streets, boutiques and cafés. And, a few steps away, are the Place des Vosges, the Ile Saint Louis, Notre-Dame, the Musée Carnavalet and the Musée Picasso. Breakfast costs EUR10.

"We stayed in this hotel for 10 nights. On the last day as we came home from a long day of sightseeing, we found our hotel room had been robbed. The police were called and an investigation ensued, but our belongings were never recovered. The police found it curious that the windows and door had been locked; obviously this was an inside job. The hotel manages 7 employees. There are far too many larger, nicer, and safer places to stay in the Marais district."
