If you have never savored honest-to-goodness, messy-fingered Southern barbecue, dont leave town without making a stop at Daddy Dz, located in the heart of the city. The flimsy, checkered tablecloths and spray-painted walls dont bother the working class clientele, and they fit in well with live blues from bands such as Five Easy Pieces, Chicago Joe and White Trash, and Black Cat Bone. Enjoy a half-slab of ribs for $11.95 or a pair of pork or beef sandwiches ($2.79-$3.29) while relaxing to some of the hottest blues music in town.

"Their slogan says it all. On a trip to Atlanta my husband and I were dying to taste some real southern BBQ and we decided to ask some locals where to go. They pointed us to Daddy D’z. On first glance, you might think it was a run down tin shack. We were a little nervous when we got inside and saw the cement floor and mismatched decor.But I ordered a pulled pork sandwhich and my husband ordered a BBQ sampler. And I will tell you that we ate like kings! It was so delicious! My mouth is watering right now just thinking about the food!So if you are in Atlanta and want an unusual but tasty dining experience – Daddy D’z is for you! And check out the live blues music too! "
