Summary of Fat Matt's Rib Shack
There’s nothing fancy about this place. You order at the counter (almost always after waiting in line awhile), then squeeze yourself into one of the long, communal tables inside or one of the little booths outside (keep in mind, this isn’t lovely outdoor terrace dining – you’ll be overlooking, at fairly short distance, the parking lot). So what’s the attraction? It’s the great barbecue – the ribs are out of this world – and the nightly live blues music, which keeps this joint jumping. The chicken, pulled pork sandwiches and Brunswick stew are also fairly popular, and you can wash it all down with a nice, cold beer. Don’t bring your high-maintenance, special-ordering friends with you – the menu is spare, as is the service. This place is much better suited to casual, laid-back types who don’t mind noise, messiness and fairly close quarters.
